Justin Bieber's Paternity Case Dropped

LOS ANGELES (CBSMiami) -- The paternity suit against teen-pop idol Justin Bieber has been dropped, according to the celebrity-gossip site TMZ.

Bieber, who denied allegations that he fathered a child in a backstage bathroom said he never met Mariah Yeater, the woman who filed the paternity suit against him. She originally claimed that she and Bieber had a brief sexual encounter after one of the singer's concerts last fall at the Los Angeles Staples Center.

After Yeater filed the paternity suit, Bieber's camp said he'd take a paternity test when he arrives home from promotional trip to Europe. His people also vowed to file a lawsuit against those responsible over the "bogus claims."

Now, TMZ is reporting that lawyers for accuser Mariah Yeater quietly dropped the suit last week.

It's not known if Bieber's lawyers will continue with a lawsuit against Yeater.
