MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – University of Miami Hurricanes linebacker Jordan Futch is okay after being taken from the practice field in an ambulance Tuesday morning.
According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, a paramedic on scene said Futch was given fluids and a UM spokesman said the incident was “nothing serious.”
UM head coach Al Golden said Futch wasn’t practicing today, but was off to the side working on his conditioning as he returns from an injury.
Futch was taken to University of Miami hospital and treated for apparent heat exhaustion.
When Futch was taken from the field, the humidity in Coral Gables was near 85 percent and helped produce a heat index of 87 degrees farenheit.
