MIAMI (CBS4)- The Sandusky saga playing out at Penn State has an unusual connection to South Florida.

Sixty-seven -year-old Sandusky was charged last weekend with molesting eight boys over a 15-year period. It has since become a scandal that rocked the Penn State campus and brought down the university’s football coach, Joe Paterno.

“It’s an awful story and I’m trying to work hard and make sure that the victims that I’ve been interviewing have a voice in all this because the scandal has really overwhelmed a lot of the story,” she said.
Ganim said she’s as surprised as anyone about the many twists and turns of the Sandusky child sex scandal.
