Broward School Bus Careens Into Deerfield Home

DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) – The driver of a Broward County school bus has been issued two citations after he lost control of his bus and careened head-on into a home in Deerfield Beach.

The bus crashed in the area of 71 NE 7th Avenue near Hillsboro Boulevard.

According to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles, Vincent Adolphus Robinson, 64, told police he had just dropped students off at Deerfield Beach Elementary School when he suddenly had no brakes.

As Robinson exited the school driveway, he said he panicked and tried pumping the brakes. The out-of-control bus went through a parking lot across the street, through a concrete wall and struck the back corner of a house.

There were no kids on the bus. Nobody in the house was hurt and neither was Robinson.

He was, however, given citations for careless driving and failure to use due care.
