FIU Thumped By Ark. State, 34-16

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Florida International's season continues to come off the rails after starting off 3-0. The latest setback for the Panthers happened in Jonesboro, Arkansas Tuesday night.

FIU was facing conference foe Arkasnas State as they looked to move to 2-1 in Sun Belt Conference play. Instead, FIU saw ASU's Ryan Aplin run for two touchdowns and pass for another to lead the Red Wolves to a 34-16.

Sadly, FIU started the fourth quarter with a 16-13 lead only to see the Red Wolves run off three unanswered touchdowns to cement the victory.

The Red Wolves' Aplin ran for 164 yards and passed for 147, scoring on runs of 22 and seven yards. The victory propelled ASU to a 5-2 record overall and 3-0 in conference play.

The loss sent FIU's once promising season to a 4-3 record and just 1-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
