Scott: "I Don't Have To Create Any Jobs"

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Florida Governor Rick Scott repeatedly promised during his 2010 campaign that he would create 700,000 jobs in seven years.

That was then; now, Governor Scott is saying the he can argue that he doesn't have to create a single job in the Sunshine State.

"The bottom line is, I could argue that I don't have to create any jobs," Scott told a radio station in Central Florida. "I just have to make sure we don't lose jobs."

According to the St. Petersburg Times, Scott is walking back the 700,000 jobs number.

The Times reported that Scott promised to create 700,000 jobs in seven years past the estimates for growth over that time. Economists estimated that 1 million jobs will be created in a seven-year time span.
