Second Suspected Oakland Park School Vandal In Custody

OAKLAND PARK (CBSMiami) – It's two down, one to go, as the Broward Sheriff's Office rounds up a trio who broke into the grounds of an Oakland Park high school, went for a swim and did a bit of vandalism.

The break-in happened around midnight on September 27th. Surveillance cameras at Northeast High School, 700 NE 56th Street, captured three men who appeared to be in the early 20s walking around in their swim trunks.

After stealing the fire extinguishers from three school buses, they discharged one of them inside one of the buses and used another to smash out a cafeteria window. The video shows the suspects on the roof of the girl's locker room discharging another of the fire extinguishers.

Days after the break-in, the sheriff's office released the surveillance tape which aired on CBS4.

Several tips to Crime Stoppers led sheriff's deputies to 22-year old Corey Frost who was taken into custody and reportedly admitted to taking part in the break in. On Wednesday, Oct. 12th, a second suspect 23-year old Brent Betterly, accompanied by a lawyer, turned himself into authorities.

The sheriff's office is now focusing on finding the third and final suspect.

Anyone with information should contact Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
