Porn Star Accused Of Animal Cruelty Released On Bond

MIAMI (CBS4) – A suspected Santeria practicing porn star will be free on bond while he fights multiple counts of animal cruelty, a judge ruled Tuesday.

Raul Armenteros, 46, was allowed to post a $24,000 bond and will be released from house arrest.

Armenteros had argued through his lawyer that house arrest had begun to impact his ability to work.

Armenteros was arrested on July 11, 2011 after police found he had left a van full of goats, chickens, pigeons and a duck baking in the summer sun. One of the goats died shortly after police arrived.

Armenteros told police the animals were going to be part of an animal sacrifice as part of his religious beliefs. But police were not swayed.

A judge had allowed Armenteros to be released on house arrest.

Known by the screen names of "Ramon" and "The Monster," Armenteros shoots for a variety of adult websites in South Florida. He is arguably Miami's biggest porn star.

Armenteros did not comment on the outcome of his case once court adjourned.
