Mental Exam Ordered For ICE Chief In Child Porn Case

MIAMI (CBS4) – A federal judge in Miami has ordered a mental health exam for South Florida's top immigration official who faces child pornography charges.

Anthony Mangione, 50, was arrested last month and charged with transportation, receipt and possession of child pornography. Prosecutors say child pornography images were found on Mangione's home computer during a search in April. Mangione, chief of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Miami has been on administrative leave from ICE since spring.

The order, issued on Monday, said Mangione should be examined to determine if he's at risk of harming himself if released on bail. Mangione has pleaded not guilty and is currently being held without bail.

If convicted, Mangione could get up to 20 years in prison.
