UF's Brantley Out Against LSU

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (CBSMiami.com) – The Florida Gators prospects of heading into Baton Rouge and upsetting the number one team in the country became grimmer Monday.

Gators head coach Will Muschamp said that starting quarterback John Brantley will not play during this Saturday's game against LSU.

Brantley was injured on the final offensive play of the first half of last Saturday's game against the University of Alabama. Prior to that, Brantley had been effective in every game in 2011.

The fifth-year senior had completed 62 percent of his passes for 518 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception on the season.

Freshman Jeff Driskel will get a baptism by fire against the Tigers on Saturday. LSU's defense is in the top 12 for scoring, number 3 in rushing, and number 9 in total defense.
