ORLANDO (CBS4) – A central Florida woman died after she was accidentally run over by her four-year old son.
Last Thursday Amara Khan, 33, sat her son in the driver’s seat of her 1996 Nissan Maxima while she strapped her 3-year-old daughter into a car seat, according to Orlando police.
Khan was walking behind the car in a mall parking lot when the boy reportedly shifted the transmission into reverse. The car backed over Khan, trapping her beneath it. Witnesses told police that they heard the woman calling for help.
Rescue workers pulled Kahn from the beneath the vehicle and rushed her to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition. On Saturday, a hospital spokesperson said Khan had died.
