Plantation Pizzeria Serving Up Hope To Women With Breast Cancer

PLANTATION (CBS4) - This week's Good 4 You goes to a South Florida family who run a local pizzeria.

For 30 years, they have been serving up food for families to enjoy but they are serving up something extra special during the month of October: the restaurant is donating a dollar of every large pizza to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

"This disease has touched so many families and so many customers that this was a way for us to give back," said Todd Reiss, one of the owner's of Antonio's Pizza Rant in Plantation and Davie.

Reiss is using October which is National Pizza Month and raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness month, which is also October. The idea is really hitting home with customers.

"I am delighted. It means the world to me just to know there is a community of support," said Carolyn Newman, who is not only a customer, but a five year breast cancer survivor.

"When I was going through my breast cancer treatment, I was too tired. I really just didn't want to cook. This place was right down the street from me," said Newman.

So, now, with this fundraiser, customers will have another reason to remain loyal to a family business giving back.

"Not only am I going to have a lot of pizza, I am going to make all my friends come here and have a lot of pizza," said Reiss.

The deal is available through the month of October.
