Duke Loses Key Defender Ahead Of FIU Game
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Florida International Golden Panthers got a bit of a reprieve Monday evening as they continue to prepare to face the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday.
Duke announced the team's leading sacker, defensive end Kenny Anunike, will be out for the remainder of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament and the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
Anunike injured his knee during last weekend's Duke victory over the Tulane Green Wave.
Anunike had four sacks and five tackles for loss for the Blue Devils, which were both the best numbers on the team. His four sacks were also tied for third best in the nation.
Duke's defense is rated 57th in the country in total defense and 82nd in the country in scoring defense.
