TAMPA (CBSMiami.com) – Police in undercover prostitution stings hear a lot of requests from suspects that are trying to determine if the customer is a cop or not.

But, one officer in Manatee County, Florida found a unique way to get around one prostitute’s test to see if he was a cop.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department, an undercover officer was working in a prostitution sting last week when he picked up a suspected prostitute.

The woman rode with the officer briefly and they stopped at a 7-11 for him to use an ATM. The officer said he threw three $20 bills out in the car and told her he only needed enough money to pick up some groceries.

According to the police report, the woman then asked undercover officer to expose himself. The officer asked if he could put on a condom first. He then exposed a “flaccid rubber replica of a penis and put a condom on it,” the police report said.

The woman began to perform oral sex on the fake phallus, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department. The officer said he then saw an opossum cross the road and slammed on the brakes, “causing the female to slide out of her seat and mildly into the dashboard.”

The officer then drove to another location and asked what the price was for her services. She finally revealed it was $20 for oral sex; when the officer approved of the price, the suspect was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies who were monitoring the entire incident.

She was later identified as Christina Vavra, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department.

Come on now… combination of Miami and CBS, what do you expect? Hey, reporting ain’t what it use to be…

  2. Freemon Sandlewould says:

Yah we need to worry about prostitutes. Leave em alone!

We have violent gangs taking over the country. How about working on that???

    …oh that’s right … you can’t fine them…they don’t have any money.

    1. dalemu says:

I agree… we have drug cartels killing innocent people along the US mexican border, violent crime runs rampant, flash mobs just walk into stores and take what they want and where are the police… out busting prostitutes.

      1. Rex says:

We have our own government giving guns to drug cartels to kill innocent people and we’re worried about sex between consenting adults? Straining at gnats.

    2. ny9solyndra says:

Prostitution is not a victimless crime.

Just because we can’t stop drug cartels is no reason to ignore all other criminal activity.

      1. J C says:

Yes it is. Pimping may be a crime with victims, but prostitution is not. If a woman voluntarily chooses to sell her body, who are you to tell her she can’t?

      2. Rich says:

        Yes it does.

    3. B says:

Now now. You have to look at it from the officer’s perspective.
After picking up a few donuts, who would you rather strip search ?

  3. PTParks says:

Maybe the undercover officer should be charged with assault with a dead weapon, or bait and switch.

  5. Dave says:

slammed on the brakes, “causing the female to slide out of her seat and mildly into the dashboard.”

What a load of CYA. More likely, when he slammed on the brakes the female was slammed into the windshield. Cops don’t care about her, they just want to get this SCARRY criminal off the streets so they don’t have to go after real criminals

America – Land of the Free – where you are free to not be allowed to exchange entertainment services for money.

    1. jess says:

Well you are free to do so, if they can tax it lol

    2. Zig Sulewski says:

If one gives a gift “oral sex” to another and the other gives a gift “money” back, It seems to me they are exchanging “gifts”. There is no crime in this and none of it is taxable, as annual gifts of up to $13,000.00 are non-taxable. What crime is committed?????? —————-Is it a crime to have someone “lick” your finger and give them money for doing it???????????

  10. david7134 says:

I am so glad that all the crime in the world has been solved so that cops can concentrate on people who are not doing any harm at all. Don’t come back with the STD concerns as most wormen who are free have more disease. Why don’t we leave non-violent people alone? For that matter, why do we restrict access to medications? Why do we constantly monitor people who are law abiding?

Does he get a ticket for having a passenger not using a seat belt? She will sue for injuries in the crash and make ten times what they fine her with.

  12. Ed Cole says:

So, the ho is doing the toy when the cop sees a ‘possum, and slams on his breaks and she hits the dashboard? What is wrong with this picture? Anyone see/read Garp? At some point during that scenario, the toy would have been bitten in half, and either the cat would be out of bag, or the ho would be dead from choking on a chunk of latex. My guess is the ‘possum story was the cops explanation for the positions he was caught him and Ms. Ho standing in when the sergeant drove up. “You’re never gonna believe this, sarge, but I was giving her the Heimlich maneuver, and it all started with this ‘possum crossing the road…”

  13. Norton Burgess says:

Isn’t that entrapment? Besides, with all of the other problems in this country, legalize prostitution. What a waste of tax payer dollars.

    1. Ralph Smerdlap says:

      >What a waste of tax payer dollars.

True. And there is not really way to opt out. If you don’t pay your protection money to the county, then these thugs will evict you from your house.

How is it logically possible for the police to “protect” someone while simultaneously robbing them?

  14. Ralph Smerdlap says:

BTW if you are walking around in public – or even sitting in your car – exposing a fake phallus, you can probably be charged with lewd conduct.

Maybe the officer should arrest himself?

  15. Frank says:

The cop probably drove past 3 burglaries in progress to make a bust for a victimless crime.

  18. Paul Mcgrath says:

I see prostitution in many forms almost everywhere in our current amoral society, but I suppose like most things related to human foibles, it’s always easier to go after the speck in our brother’s eye while ignoring the plank in our own eye.

  19. GD says:

The officer said he then saw an opossum cross the road and slammed on the brakes,

Why did the opossum cross the road? Who cares.

  20. Ralph Smerdlap says:

” slammed on the brakes, “causing the female to slide out of her seat and mildly into the dashboard.””

To me it sounds like crimes of assault and reckless driving. I wonder if it’s also violating civil rights under color of law – a serious crime?

  21. Phil Landers says:

  23. Dave says:

Only in the US. She can kill her baby wholesale, but she can’t rent her coochy or her mouth out.

Kind of like 18 year olds being able to die for their country but not drink or vote.

    United States of Hypocrisy

    1. dave is a simpleton says:

What is hypocritical about allowing abortion and outlawing prostitutinion? Nothing if you can put a couple of thoughts together. Not allowing abortion could be considered a very large infringement of a woman’s rights. Not allowing prostitution isn’t so important. Plus there are issues of public health with prostitution that don’t come into play with abortion. PLUS – there is the constitution that the supreme court has ruled protects abortion rights but not the right to be a prostitution.

And it is not in any way hypocritical to not allow 18 year olds to vote but make them participate in the draft. The skills and judgment to be a solder and to vote wisely are not the same.

Must be nice being such a simpleton. The world is so black and white, right?

      1. Johnny Be Good. says:

What? Simpleton must be your name. You can’t spell and have the arrogance to criticize. You’re irrational and illogical thinking is why we have stupid laws. There are hundreds of cases against abortion clinics involving infections received during abortions. Abortion has nothing to do with woman’s health. It is a perceived solution to in a majority of the cases a voluntarily created problem. It is hypocritical to say that an 18 year old can vote, get married, use a rocket propelled grenade launcher, be killed in battle, drive a tank,or make a decision to kill an enemy, but lacks the ability to drink responsibly. Idiots make these laws. The same idiots make the laws that permit a policeman to give a ticket to a person not using their seat belt while riding in a car that has reinforced metal side, curtain airbags, and front impact airbags but permit a motorcyclist to ride without a helmet. It is not hypocrisy, it is just plain and simple idiocy. Idiocy made for people like you.

      2. JB says:

The constitution does not Prohibit Either act. The Nevada State constitution actually allows the counties to decide to prohibit it after the county reaches a certain population. In counties that prostitution is legal, or has voted for it to remain legal, the providers are independent contractors, the brothels & providers pay taxes, are regulated and the providers undergo mandatory weekly health exams.
Las Vegas is in a prohibition county. Where it is illegal you find the pimps, underage girls, abuse, drugs, rape, and all the other associated crimes that the police are trying to address with stings.

Legalizing has fewer unintended consequences than prohibition.

      3. Well said Dave says:

I agree with Dave 110%! The mindless follower that wrote “dave is a simpleton” makes me wonder if he or she can put a couple of thoughts together. It is indeed VERY hypocritical to allow a woman to kill her baby but not “rent her coochy” as Dave so eloquently put it! Lol! Not because the Supreme Court legalizes one act and not the other doesn’t make it any less hypocritical.

  24. Charlie Adler says:

Two consenting adults entering into an agreement that causes zero harm to anyone else. I don’t see the harm in that. I see more harm with women giving it away for free.

Counties should put their tax dollars to good use and focus on “REAL” crimes.

  25. Al Lee says:

Is there anyone who still approves of cops wasting time and money on such a so-called “crime”?

    1. responding to the clueless says:

I do. Maybe you should use a dictionary and see what a crime is. The best definition is something that is against the criminal law. You libertarians are idiots. Why don’t you move to amsterdam with the rest of the losers.

      1. Joe says:

Libertarians are idiots? Seriously? So you basically believe that any law is sacrosanct? What if that law outright violates the Constitution?

It’s a simple fact that prohibition leads to more crime than legalization. It also destroys a potential source of use taxes that don’t have to come out of our pockets, while saving money on stings that don’t need to happen.

        Who’s clueless again? Oh, right—you.

  26. brad says:

as long as there are people thumping a bible and calling sex dirty, this will be illegal.

    1. 5th Level Fighter says:

Wrong. As long as there are politicians looking for money & power, this will be illegal.

    2. Brad is clueless says:

Yeah Brad, we should eliminate the protections for religion in the 1st amendment and eliminate religion from societiy right? That would make the world a swell place. Sad that you are so morally clueless….

      1. Taylor95 says:

The first amendment does not “protect” religion. The amendment prohibits the making of any law establishing religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

      2. Jerry M. says:

Taylor85-“prohibiting the free exercise thereof” is not protecting religion???? I suggest remedial reading comprehension courses at your local community college!!

  27. harleydee says:

So why would you ever make that last statement unless you were a moron who doesn’t even understand his own beliefs?

  37. cm says:

i feel so much safer now.

  38. Amish Bernie Madoff says:

you all do realize that prostitution is just another way for organized crime to make money, right? In most cases prostitutes arent freelancing, they are working for the mob, gangs, cartels etc.

    1. Jack says:

$20? I doubt this was a Mafia operation – this was a poor desperate person trying to earn some money for drugs, alcohol, or food.

      1. Charlie says:

Organized crime used to make money off of moonshine and bathtub gin. Then we legalized it. When, do you see the local “beer mart” employees shooting at the grocery store across the street , because they are competing in selling Budweiser? Keeping Prostitution Illegal In Fact Helps Organized Crime. Anyone remember “cigar stores”?

    2. jess says:

No, not in most cases actually. Has it happened? Of course. Is it common? No. The same could be said about alcohol…cigarettes…firearms…drugs…

  39. andrew says:

what a pathetic country we have become…. It’s the cops that should be ashamed.

  40. andrew says:

Amish Bernie. You are right, it is largely part of organised crime. The reason for that is we have made it illegal….therefore opening the door to organsied crime. Make sex between consenting adults legal, then there will be no place for organised crime. Same situation with drugs. This country is going down the toilet because it has mistaken legalistic morality for common sense. There is a reason this country is so messed up, and it is perfectly illustrated by this story. Idiot cop (and probably guilty of assault as well).

    1. jack says:

The cop sounds like the one who is guilty of crime, likely had sex, robbed the prostitute then beat her on the head,

  41. clem says:

Why don’t you law enforcement people go after the real crooks in Washington DC that don’t pay their Income Taxes; and those politicians that LIE and give away tax payer money; and throw in the crooks that wrote “Obamacare”!!
These are the real prostitutes, THE POLITICIANS!!!!!!

  42. Dave says:

    Only $20 for head?

Usually costs me dinner and a movie.

  43. Jack says:

Wow the cops are really using good judgment on going after dangerous criminals – NOT!

  44. nosmo king says:

she slid “mildly” into the dash? she could have been lightly killed!!!

  45. Sam I Am says:

waste of time. The demand for prostitution won’t go down unless cops decide to go after the johns. Also, can you imagine what might have happened if the woman got hurt when the officer hit the brakes? The city would end up paying thousands in medical bills.

    1. ny9solyndra says:

“The demand for prostitution won’t go down unless cops decide to go after the johns.”

Uh, the cops DO go after the Johns a lot of the time.

  46. jess says:

So a man wants a woman to perform oral sex on him while driving…which she does. He then proceeds to “accidentally” slam on the brakes which causes her to “gently” smash into the dashboard. Sounds to me like the officer needs to go down as well. I mean if we are going to pretend the world is pretty and hoes need to be charged…then this officer should be charged with sex in a vehical and assault.

  48. rex dart eskimo spy says:

I wonder what it would be like to live in a truly free country.

  49. its me says:

you people that think prostitution is ok should let these men and women sale there goods in front of your home. then you will see the problems and crime it attracts to that area. its not the act but all the problems that come with prostitution. im not against it but it should be regulated,as in the people involved get tested for stds and there should be a secure place for it to happen so it is safe for both parties involved. prostitution should not be allowed to happen in neighborhoods, near neighborhoods, near schools or parks but in a place that can restrict and control all the bad things that come with prostitution when it is not. but even with this it will still attract a bad element to the surrounding area like druggies that will be robbing the johns and drug dealers that will do what they have to to be the only dealer in the hood and lets not forget the drunks that will be wondering into that area to get some stanky on there hang down that will be having accidents or be involved in assaults or worse. but like i said if you approve of it let them sale there goods in front of your home and i bet your attitude towards it changes.

    1. Joe says:

If prostitution were legal, there’d be private businesses opening up catering to it, just like in Nevada. It would probably be LESS visible than it is now. There wouldn’t be anyone on the streets doing it once businesses that check for STDs spring up. And that would happen immediately. The market is a wonderful thing. It doesn’t need regulation if you allow it to just be free. I.E. You don’t need to mandate STD checks. The market will bear it out.

Please stop fighting for the legalization of prostitution. You are wasting your time fighting for something that will not be legalized for a long time. The public is too dumb to embrace European style freedom. The public buys into the media label of drugs and prostitution as taboo. America is a hypocritical nation and will suffer for its hypocrisy. America has the highest incarnation rates and murder rates in the entire world. The war on prostitution and drugs did not lower the violent crime rates. I give up fighting for America and do not care if police do prostitution stings. I do not solicit online and on the streets so police will never arrest me for prostitution offenses. The do good Sallies are around making sure everyone is safe and embraces tyranny. Prostitution stings are what you get for a dumb down public that love football worship and hate philosophical thinking. I do not care about America anymore because the public is zombie. Most Americans have no idea of European culture of legalization of prostitution and low punishment for victimless crimes. It’s simple. Change the culture=Change the laws.
