Report: Fmr. Heat Star Glen Rice Had Fling With Palin

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Former Miami Heat star Glen Rice was the first superstar player for the Heat in the late 1980's. But, it's an alleged claim from Rice's playing days in college that has put him at the center of the political world.

According to the National Enquirer, a new book by author Joe McGiniss claims that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin had a "steamy interracial hookup," when she was just starting out as a sports reporter in Alaska.

Palin's camp hasn't addressed the claim, but McGiniss said Rice confirmed the affair to him, according to the Enquirer.

The Enquirer said that McGiniss claimed "Sarah had a 'fetish' for black men at the time and he (McGinnis) quotes a friend as saying Sarah had a 'hauled (Rice's) ass down.'"

The alleged affair happened when Rice's Michigan Wolverines were in Alaska for the annual Great Alaska Shootout.

The Enquirer also reported that Todd Palin was "very much in the picture at the time and the couple married just nine months later."
