Man Shot Dead On Busy N. Miami Beach Street

NORTH MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) - A busy North Miami Beach street became a crime scene after someone opened fire and shot a man in the middle of the road.

Miami-Dade Police Detective Roy Rutland says two men were arguing at a  T-Mobile phone store in the area of Northeast 163rd Street and 12th Avenue. As the dispute moved outside, the victim got in his car and pulled out of the parking lot.

As the victim was leaving, the other man pulled out a gun and began shooting.

The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead in his car in the middle of the street. The gunman reportedly fled on foot.

Rutland says a gun was found next to the victim's body, but it is unclear if it belonged to the victim or the shooter.

Traffic in the area of Northeast 163rd Street and Northeast 12th Avenue is closed while police investigate.
