Water Warning Lifted In Fort Lauderdale Following Sewage Spill

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) – A water warning for parts of Fort Lauderdale has been lifted.

The Broward County Health Department and the city of Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday lifted a precautionary advisory for the inland recreational waters of several neighborhoods stemming from a recent sewer line break.

The advisories were issued for the neighborhoods of Harbor Beach, Harbor Drive, Harbordale, Harbour Inlet, Lauderdale Harbours and Rio Vista, after a 54-inch sewage line ruptured on August 18 near the Harbor Shops off the 17th Street Causeway.

Bacteriological test results indicate the waters in these neighborhoods are now clear for fishing, swimming, jet skiing, and other water-related activities.
