MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Fans have to hand it to Florida Atlantic University. They’ve built a beautiful new stadium, built a decent program, and have developed a swagger.

But, sometimes that swagger may come back to bite them.

Over the weekend, FAU president Mary Jane Saunders decided to have a little fun and poke fun at the Owls’ first opponent this season. The only problem is, it’s the Florida Gators.

“We have a slogan for the Gators game – Tastes like chicken,” Saunders said, according to the Palm Beach Post.

FAU’s Florida game is the first of three straight brutal games to open the season. The next week, the Owls travel to Michigan State and follow that up with a trip to Auburn to play the Tigers.

FAU will be at an even greater disadvantage playing Florida because the Gators will have a new offense under Charlie Weis and a new defense under Will Muschamp. But, given the Gators’ history, chicken may be an apt description.
