Son Accused Of Mother's Murder Enters Not Guilty Plea

FORT LAUDERDALE – (CBS4) – The Hollywood man accused of killing his mother made an appearance in Broward's criminal courthouse Friday.

Jason Kertesz, 29, is facing a first-degree murder charge for the killing of his mother Irene Kertesz on July 30th.

Through his attorney, Kertesz entered a not guilty plea.

Kertesz is being held in a Broward County jail without bond.

According to the arrest affidavit, Kertesz's 62-year-old mother was found dead in her home in the 2400 block of Northwest 57th Way sometime around 9 p.m. on July 30th.

Her husband, John, discovered her body.

Jason Kertesz is also facing robbery charges after police say he used his mother's ATM card to withdraw money.

Irene Kertesz worked as a secretary at St. Lawrence Catholic School in North Miami Beach for the last 12 years.
