Logan Morrison Recalled From Minors

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Outfielder Logan Morrison will rejoin the Florida Marlins Wednesday less than two weeks after being sent down to the minors for his actions off the baseball field.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Morrison announced his return via Twitter Tuesday night. The Post said Morrison tweeted, "6 pm flight to FLL. The boogeyman is back."

Officially, Marlins president Larry Beinfest said the demotion was due to Morrison's poor play ending on August 13. Unofficially, the Marlins were upset over Morrison's outspokenness on Twitter and for refusing to take part in some team functions.

When Morrison was demoted, he was hitting .249 with 17 home runs and 60 RBI's. While playing with the New Orleans Zephyrs in AAA ball, he hit .167, according to the Palm Beach Post.

That left questions unanswered why the Marlins originally said it was about his hitting, when his hitting got worse in AAA ball.
