Broward To Spray Northwestern Cities For Mosquitoes

CORAL SPRINGS (CBS4) – Residents of Coral Springs and Sunrise who have been complaining about all the mosquitoes this year take heart, help is on the way.

Wednesday morning, between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., Broward's Mosquito Control Section will spray for mosquitoes over Coral Springs, Tamarac, Sunrise and parts of Plantation.

The area to be sprayed includes Royal Palm Boulevard to the north, Sunrise Boulevard to the south, 100 Avenue / Nob Hill Road to the east and Sawgrass Expressway to the west.

Residents with breathing difficulties are urged to stay inside during the spraying.

This year's extended dry season, which dried up lots of areas in the Everglades and gave mosquitoes plenty of places to lay their eggs, combine with recent rains which allowed the eggs to hatch have causing a particularly bad season this year.
