AVENTURA (CBS4) – Aventura Police set up a perimeter Thursday night looking for two men who robbed a Fresh Market grocery store at closing time.

Aventura Police spokesperson Ana Howell says the two masked men forced their way into the store at 18295 Biscayne Boulevard just after 9 p.m. Employees and customers were still inside the store at the time, some fleeing into a freezer for protection.

Police say the men were carrying a shotgun and a knife. One suspect stole the cash register, while the other ransacked a back office. They were able to get away with an unknown amount of cash.

Police say the suspects are still at large. Anyone with information is urged to call the Aventura Police Department of Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
