Flight From Ft. Lauderdale Makes Emergency Landing

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4)- A JetBlue plane en route to New York from Fort Lauderdale had to make an emergency landing in West Palm Beach Thursday after the aircraft experienced a technical issue, according to the airline.

According to Alison Croyle of JetBlue, flight 18 departed Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport at approximately 11: 30 a.m.

At 12:53 p.m., the plane made a safe emergency landing at PBIA, the FAA said. The flight was scheduled to arrive at John F. Kennedy International Airport at 2:34 p.m.

Croyle said 134 customers were onboard the flight.

According to Croyle, "The aircraft landed safely and without incident and is currently being inspected by maintenance."

Customers will be re-accommodated on a new flight expected to depart PBI at 4:35 p.m., arriving at its final destination to New York's JFK at 7:22 p.m., according to Croyle.
