Broward Bus-Tanker Accident Sends 22 To Hospital
MARGATE (CBS4) - Nearly two dozen people were treated for injuries at area hospitals after a tanker truck reared ended a county bus in Margate.
Margate Fire spokesman Chief Dan Booker said the accident happened at Margate Boulevard and State Road 7.
Chopper4 over the scene found the bus parked at a bus stop with damage to its rear on the driver's side.
Two people could be seen on backboards being attended to by rescue personnel; one was taken to a waiting ambulance. The driver was sitting on a bus bench wearing a neck brace.
Booker said 22 of the injured were taken to area hospitals where they were treated for mostly minor injuries; one person who suffered a spinal injury was taken to North Broward Medical Center as a precaution. The remaining three passengers who were injured were treated on the scene.
