Storms Expected Across S. Florida Tuesday

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The rainy season is in full swing and Tuesday could be a washout in many areas as showers and thunderstorms are expected to move across South Florida throughout the day.

The unsettled weather pattern is bringing tropical moisture up from the south as a trough just off the Atlantic Coast will likely move across the region Tuesday.

As the trough moves across the area, the heavier rain may start to move more towards the west coast this afternoon.

The cloudy weather is also helping to keep the temperatures from climbing to high. That doesn't mean it's not hot, because with the increased humidity, the heat index was running in the mid-90's around 10 a.m.

And the current weather pattern doesn't show any signs of ending anytime soon. Stormy weather is expected to last through Thursday, with rain chances decreasing over the weekend.
