Hialeah Police Hunt For Alleged Bank Robber, 2 Arrested

HIALEAH (CBS4)- Police are on the look out for one of three men who allegedly robbed a bank in Hialeah Friday morning.

According to Eddie Rodriguez of the Hialeah Police Department, two men reportedly walked into the bank and handed one of the tellers a note demanding money and instructing that teller to pass the note along to the other tellers.

One of the men allegedly had a grenade in his hand as he entered the Regions Bank located at 600 East 9th Street. A third man waited outside the bank.

Police said the two men left the bank with money stolen during the robbery and jumped into a black SUV as they attempted to leave the scene at SE 9th Street and 1st Place.

Shortly after, police arrested the two men, but are looking for the third man. That man was in another getaway car, a gold Nissan Maxima, which was later discovered at the Hialeah Motel at 555 East Okechobee.

Miami Dade County Bomb Squad was on scene for the possible grenade but no device was located.

Police set up a perimeter to locate the third man they are looking for.

The case was later tuned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
