Hanley Out Of Thursday's Phillies Game

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBSMiami.com) – When the Florida Marlins take the field to try and change their losing ways Thursday, they'll be doing it without their starting shortstop.

Hanley Ramirez is out of the lineup for Thursday's matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies. The move wasn't unexpected, as the Marlins plan to rest Ramirez when a day game follows a night game, according to rotoworld.com.

Ramirez has been a shell of his former self during the 2011 season. He's also just one season removed from helping to run manager Fredi Gonzalez out of town.

For the season, Ramirez is hitting just .206 with 4 home runs and 17 RBI's. That's not enough production for a shortstop making $11 million this season.
