Mavs Start To Taunt LeBron

DALLAS (CBSMiami.com) – There's an old saying that says don't kick a dog when he's down. Dallas Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson may learn that the hard way if Heat star LeBron James plays up to form in Game 5.

LeBron played poorly in Game 4 and everyone, including LeBron, knows it and has acknowledged the obvious that he has to play better or the Heat are done.

But Stevenson took it a step further on Wednesday when he said LeBron "checked out" in the final minutes of Game 4 on Tuesday night. Stevenson continued saying the Heat are still trying to get to know each other and James wasn't himself Tuesday night.

Stevenson also said that LeBron is "talented enough that he can use anything in the paper to kind of boost his ego."

Given the fact that LeBron can turn it on and make something really special in a hurry, Stevenson's comments may not boost LeBron's ego, and instead, give him fuel to silence the doubters of his game during Game 5.

The Heat certainly hope so and his running mate, Dwyane Wade, said that LeBron will make something special happen in Game 5. LeBron is averaging just under 18 points a game in the Finals, but has also contributed countless assists in the game.

While it's great that LeBron has gotten his teammates involved, it's often come at the cost of him being aggressive on the offensive end of the floor. And for the Heat to overcome the Mavs, the Heat will need at least 20 points from LeBron and keep Wade and Bosh scoring at will to win the championship.
