Softball Umpire Accused Of Molesting Teen Bonds Out Of Jail

PLANTATION (CBS4) - A 25-year-old female softball umpire who was arrested on charges of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl  bonded out of jail early Friday morning.

The  Broward Sheriff's Office arrested Brigid Lesovsky on Thursday. She was an umpire for the Cooper City Optimist Club for more than a year, working on an as-needed basis, the Sheriff's Office said. On Thursday, authorities arrived at her girlfriend's Plantation home and took her into custody for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year old player.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said the situation came to light after the teen got in trouble in school and a teacher contacted her parents. As the girl's parents questioned her about their concerns, she reportedly opened up to them about her relationship with 25-year old Brigid Lesovsky.

"This isn't just something that was a consensual relationship. There's no such thing as a consensual relationship with a 14-year-old," said Keyla Concepcion, a spokesperson for the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The parents then contacted the Broward Sheriff's Office to report Lesovsky's actions.

Lesovsky has been contracted on an as-needed basis by the Cooper City Optimist Club as a softball umpire for over a year. That's where she met the girl.  The relationship that started out as a friendship turned sexual about a month ago, when the teen claims she was fondled by Lesovsky.

Lesovsky is charged with lewd/lascivious molestation and sexual offenses against a child.

"You can't really trust anybody, obviously, you need to really be on top of who they're spending their time with," said Charmayne Dent, a parent.

BSO Special Victims Unit detectives fear there could be other victims of Lesovsky out there.   Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Lynne Philbrick at (954) 321-4246 or Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
