Police Release Sketch Of Oakland Park McDonald's Robber

OAKLAND PARK (CBS4) - The Broward Sheriff's Office has released a composite sketch of an armed man who was caught on camera robbing a McDonald's in Oakland Park on Monday night.

The robbery happened just after 9 p.m. Monday, May 16th, at the McDonald's at 1352 E. Commercial Boulevard. The armed man, who was wearing a hood and a bandana over his face, quickly ushered the manager and four other employees to the back office where he demanded they fill his bag with money from the safe.

He then escorted the employees back to the front and ordered them to take the money out of the cash registers. Within a few minutes, he was gone.

Just prior to the armed robbery, an employee at a neighboring business saw the suspect sitting outside and became very suspicious when the suspect covered his face with a white bandana.

Deputies responded to the suspicious person call and were flagged down by the McDonald's manager who said the restaurant had just been robbed. A perimeter was established and BSO K-9 units were utilized, but the man got away.

Anyone with information about this robbery is urged to call BSO Robbery Det. Mark Copley at (954) 321-4270 or call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
