AA Miami Flight Lands Safely In Vegas After Smoke Report

LAS VEGAS (CBS4) --  A commercial aircraft which departed Miami to San Francisco made an emergency landing in Las Vegas after the pilot reported a smell of smoke in the cockpit, authorities said.

McCarran International Airport and fire officials said American Airlines flight 431 landed safely just before 11:10 a.m. Friday with 165 passengers and crew members aboard. No injuries were reported.

Clark County spokeswoman Jennifer Knight says firefighters met the Boeing 757, and passengers were taken off the plane without incident.

Knight and airport spokesman Chris Jones say investigators weren't immediately able to identify the source of the odor aboard the aircraft.
