Police Hunt For Hit & Run Driver Who Struck Motorcyclist

MIAMI (CBS 4)- A South Florida family is asking for the public's help in finding the person responsible for a hit and run crash that left their 67-year-old father injured and bleeding on the side of the road.

According to police, the incident happened on Wednesday night at 152nd Street and 93rd Avenue across the street from Jackson Memorial Hospital South.

Police said that Mario Blanca was riding his motorcycle east bound on 152nd Street when a car trying to make a left on 93rd Ave made a turn on a red light straight into Blanca's path.

Blanca's son, who spoke to CBS 4's Silva Harapetian, was in tears devastated at how anyone could do that to his 67-year-old father.

Blanca's daughter, Minsu Blanca, said she is angry.

"How could someone hit someone and leave them like a dog in the middle of the street without stopping to see if he is alive or dead," Minsu Blanca said.

Blanca has a number of serious injuries and is currently at Jackson Memorial Hospital,Harapetian reported.

Florida Highway Patrol said they have no witnesses and no description of a vehicle. They're hoping that anyone with information will come forward and call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
