UF Throws Star Cornerback Off Team

GAINESVILLE (CBSMiami.com) - Florida cornerback Janoris Jenkins flirted with coming out for the NFL Draft this year, but decided to remain at school.

He might rethink that decision after Florida head coach Will Muschamp threw Jenkins off the team for another marijuana related arrest, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Jenkins was arrested and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession last Saturday. The arrest came after he had settled an arrest on marijuana possession on January 22.

For Jenkins, he now has to decide what to do with the remnants of his career. He was projected to be a 1st-2nd round draft pick had he kept his nose clean and played well this year.

Jenkins has the option of transferring to a Division I school, but he would have to redshirt a year and then play one final season. He can also transfer to a Division I-AA or Division II school and play his final season this year.

Or, Jenkins could declare for the NFL's Supplemental Draft, which would put him in the position to get drafted this year. But, with two marijuana arrests in less than six months, it's going to be tough for an NFL to justify selecting him.
