MIAMI (CBS4)-  The wife of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall bonded out of court Saturday afternoon. Michi Nogami-Marshall was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon Friday night after she stabbed the football player at their Southwest Ranches home, according to the police report.

Brandon Marshall was in intensive care Saturday morning, but was released from the hospital by 3 p.m. Saturday. Michi Marshall bonded out of jail earlier in the day. She said nothing to reporters who asked her about the police report indicating she had stabbed Marshall in self defense.

Public records show his 27-year-old wife was booked into the Broward County Jail after she was arrested in Southwest Ranches Friday night. The aggravated battery charge listed on her inmate information form filed with Broward Sheriff Office has a "domestic violence" notation. Her bond was set at $7,500.

According to the arrest report, Michi Marshall "did unlawfully and intentionally arm herself with a kitchen knife and stab the victim in the abdomen."

League sources said told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Dolphins' star receiver was taken to Broward General Hospital by car, not ambulance, after 911 was called, and underwent surgery late Friday night for a stab wound to the stomach.

Marshall wanted to come home from the hospital Saturday but doctors wanted to keep him there to guard against infection, the sources said. Marshall was eventually released from the hospital Saturday afternoon.

The NFL Network reported Saturday that Marshall also had defensive wounds on both of his hands, although that information was not included in the police report. The NFL Network cited a source close to the investigation.

Schefter tweeted Saturday morning:

About 8:47 a.m.: "Details still coming into ESPN, but Dolphins WR Brandon Marshal was stabbed and taken to a hospital, where he has been in intensive care."

About 9 a.m.: "Details still sketchy but someone who knows about Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall being stabbed told ESPN, "He's going to be OK."

About 9:20 a.m., Marshall's best friend and college teammate, Mike Sims-Walker tweeted that Marshall was going to be "ok and is in good spirits."

Marshall was stabbed in the stomach, Schefter said.  No vital organs were pierced.

Schefter also said Marshall underwent surgery and  "should make full recovery in two to three weeks."

The couple was engaged on February 5, 2009, in Hawaii, according to hollywoodcelebgossips.com.

The report said that Brandon Marshall and his wife have been married for approximately one year and have been "involved as a couple for approximately two and one half years and have no children together."

The report said that Brandon Marshall provided sworn testimony advising that he slipped and fell onto a broken glass vase, but the area of where the vase was broken "indicated no blood within the immediate area to substantiate his claim."

But Michi Marshall stated she stabbed Brandon Marshall out of self defense. Photographs were taken of the scene and of the football player.

Both Brandon Marshall and Michi Marshall provided "scant information" regarding the incident itself; however, based upon the statement and the injuries to Brandon Marshall, Michi Marshall was taken into custody, the report said.

Marshall, acquired by the Dolphins last April from the Denver Broncos to become their biggest offensive threat in 2010, led Miami in receiving yards with 1,014 despite missing two games with a hamstring injury.

He has a five-year, $50 million contract.

Marshall, who wed Michi Marshall in 2010, has had a string of scrapes with the law in three states, repeated domestic disputes, contract squabbles, and petulant behavior during three years with the Denver Broncos.

Premarriage, Brandon Marshall told the Denver Post when speaking of the engagement, "It's me taking a step back and looking at what's important. What really solidified it for me was coming out here and seeing guys, bachelors at the pool with their girlfriends, and then looking at guys like Peyton Manning and Troy Polamalu and Casey Wiegmann with their families. And looking at them, I said those are the guys I want to be. You could see their peace. That's what so important for me, is to have peace. And this is the ultimate step to achieve that."

But the pair's relationship soon after hit the rocks. In March of 2009, Brandon Marshall faced a possible suspension even though a disorderly conduct charge stemming from a fight with Michi Marshall, who was his fiancee at the time, was dismissed in an Atlanta court.

The case was dropped after Brandon Marshall and Michi Marshall, both of whom were charged with disorderly conduct, refused to testify against each other, according to the Associated Press.

According to an Atlanta police incident report, officers were sent to a residence about 4:30 a.m. to quell a disturbance.

The report said that, "Mr. Marshall stated that he and his fiancee, Ms. Michi Nogami-Campbell were having a discussion," the report states. "Mr. Marshall advised that the discussion became intense and Ms. Campbell attempted to walk away."

Marshall told police that he feared for her safety since she was from Orlando and wasn't familiar with Atlanta, and that he was trying to convince his fiancee to return to his residence.

According to the incident report, an Atlanta police officer saw the two walking on Centennial Park Drive when "they became physical and engaged in a fight, kicking and punching each other on the sidewalk."

The officer "observed Mr. Marshall grab Ms. Nogami-Campbell by her shirt and pin her up against the wall, and at this time Ms. Nogami-Campbell then began kicking and hitting Mr. Marshall."

Marshall and Nogami-Campbell were each charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the city jail. Charges were dropped against both, according to the city solicitor's office.

Brandon Marshall was jailed for five hours after his fourth arrest in three years. Marshall was banned from the opener following seven police-related incidents with his former girlfriend.

On ESPN's Outside the Lines, his former girlfriend Rasheeda Watley told reporter John Barr in 2009 that she had used a knife to defend herself from him in a 2007 domestic dispute.

"He comes in the room and he, like, choked me on the bed," Watley said of a 2007 argument. "I was...we were arguing and we were in the room and he, like, choked me on the bed. Really, really choked me."

In a statement, Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene said Saturday, "We are aware of the reports and our thoughts are with Brandon at this time. We will look into the manner, but because we are not allowed to have any contact with any of our players, we will refrain from making any further comment."

According to Schefter, Marshall's reps Harvey Steinberg and Kennard McGuire released this statement: "This is a very difficult time for Brandon and family. Thankfully he will make a full recovery, we simply ask that his privacy is respected."
