Construction To Close Part Of Don Shula Expressway

KENDALL (CBS4) - If your travel plans Wednesday night include the Don Shula Expressway, be aware that the southbound lanes and ramps between Kendall Drive and Killian Parkway will be closed to traffic beginning at 10 p.m.

The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) said construction crews will be installing new signage and the highway and ramps should be re-opened by 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Drivers heading south on the Don Shula Expressway (SR 874) will be forced to get off at Kendall Drive and turn right. They will then head west to SW 107th Avenue. From there they will head south to get back southbound SR 874.  Drivers traveling on eastbound and westbound Kendall Drive should also detour through SW 107th Avenue.

Thursday night the northbound lanes and ramps for the same stretch of the Don Shula will be closed in the same area for the same reason. MDX said they hope to have the signage work complete by 5:30 a.m. Friday morning.
