Hialeah Soldier Killed In Afghan Fire Fight

WASHINGTON DC (CBS4) - A soldier from Hialeah died in the line of duty during a fire fight in Afghanistan.

Sgt. 1st Class Ofren Arrechaga, 28, along with 26-year old Staff Sgt. Frank Adamski III from Connecticut and specialist Jameson Lindskog, 23, from California were killed Tuesday, March 29th, when their unit came under fire in the Konar province.

The Dept. of Defense said the three soldiers were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) which is based out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

The battalion was in Afghanistan as part of the U.S. government's Operation Enduring Freedom.
