Hialeah Lawmaker Enters Race To Fill Seijas' Seat

MIAMI (CBS4) - The first candidate to file paperwork to fill former Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natacha Seijas' seat is State Rep.Esteban Bovo, a Hialeah Republican who was elected to the state house in 2008.

Bovo has submitted the necessary paperwork required to run for the seat left open following a bitter recall election last week financed by billionaire auto magnate Norman Braman.

Mayor Carlos Alvarez was also voted out of office last week.

So far, the following candidates vying for Alvarez's seat include Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina, County Commissioner Carlos Gimenez, former state legislator Marcelo Llorente, former rap star Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell.
