Family Of Fmr. Venezuelan Leader Fight Entombment Order

MIAMI (CBS4) - In a scene that is rivaling the saga of the late James Brown's body, an appeal is planned of a Miami judge's order that the body of former Venezuelan President Andres Perez be temporarily entombed.

Perez's longtime companion in Miami said Perez did not want to be buried in his home country. But, Perez's wife in Venezuela wants him buried there.

The judge's order was for a temporary entombment order while the family fights over his final burial location. The case will now move to Florida's 3rd District Court of Appeals.

Perez died in Miami on December 25 at age 88. He was Venezuela's president from 1974-1979 and 1989-1993.
