Suspect Sought In Kendall Puppy-Snatching

MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami-Dade Police are on the hunt for a man who snatched a puppy from it's owner and sped off in his car.

Authorities say a man visited the West Point K-9 Academy at 5801 Southwest 125 Avenue on Tuesday to inquire about adopting a dog.

When the man left the facility, he reportedly asked to take a picture with a puppy who belonged to the kennel owner's daughter.

While the picture was being taken, the man, who was sitting in the car with the dog, allegedly threw the car into reverse and hit the accelerator.

The puppy's owner tried to hold on to the car door, but could not keep her grip and fell to the ground. She suffered minor injuries to her knees.

The puppy snatcher was able to get away.

If you have any information on where the puppy is, call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
