Kellogg's Recalling 17k Cartons Of Cookies

MIAMI (CBS4) -The Kellogg's Company has issued a recall on one of its popular cookie brands because mislabeled packaging may lead to allergic reactions.

Keebler Fudge Shoppe Jumbo Fudge Sticks in 8-count cartons are being recalled because the cartons actually contain Jumbo Peanut Butter Sticks.

The individually wrapped cookies are correctly labeled as "Peanut Butter", but are housed in a carton labeled "Fudge".

Keebler and it's parent company Kellogg's issued the urgent recall due to the severity of side effects people who have peanut allergies experience upon consumption.

The cookies were sold in a limited quantity at convenience stores across the U.S.  The company says approximately 17,000 8-count cartons are affected.

The cartons are marked with UPC code 3010053332 and a lot code of AS 07 27 1A.

So far, no allergic reactions have been reported.

The company says consumers with questions or those who would like a replacement may contact the Keebler Consumer Response Center at 888-746-3679 from 8 am to 8 pm Eastern time, or visit www.Keebler.com
