Police: Broward Man Exposed Himself In Park

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - Fort Lauderdale Police want to know if a guy they arrested for fondling himself in a car in a park had inappropriate contact with any children.

Police arrested William Waldman, 66, on Saturday at George English Park and charged him with lewd and lascivious exhibition. Police said they found kids' toys and candy in his car.

Investigators say Waldman approached children in the park last Friday. Ten-year-old Allison said she saw Waldman talk to her friend.

"He didn't look very nice and when he said to my friend, 'Oh you're so beautiful and where do the kids get out of school,' I didn't think he was very good," Allison said.

Allison said she and her friend quickly left the park.

When Allison returned to the park the next day for tennis lessons she saw Waldman again and told her mom. Her mother, Donna, told a park employee.

"It was chilling to think that we were obviously that close," Donna told CBS 4 News.

Fort Lauderdale Police arrived soon after and say they found Waldman touching himself inappropriately. Police arrested Waldman and ordered him to stay out of the city's parks.

However, they say Waldman was spotted inside Holiday Park on Thursday. He was arrested for trespassing.

"We are working tirelessly with the Parks and Rec Department to ensure that this subject does not continue to enter our parks and continue to harass our children," said Fort Lauderdale Police Detective Travis Mandell.

Donna said she hopes they've seen the last of William Waldman.

"It's disheartening I know that obviously 99 percent of the time, 100 percent we have to be right on top of things," Donna said.

Police want to know if Waldman had contact with any other kids. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers at 954 493 TIPS.
