Sunpass Only Lanes To Close At Okeechobee Plaza

MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) - For the next three weekends drivers who use the Florida Turnpike in Miami-Dade can expect delays at the Okeechobee Toll Plaza.

The SunPass-only express lanes will be shut down around the clock so workers can install new tolling equipment as part of the ongoing construction project to convert the southern 47 miles of the Turnpike to all-electronic open road tolling. The closures will run from:

Friday, January 28 at 9 p.m. through Monday, January 31, at 6 a.m.
Friday, February 4 at 9 p.m. through Monday, February 7, at 6 a.m.
Friday, February 11 at 9 p.m. through Monday, February 14, at 6 a.m

In addition to the weekends, the SunPass-only express lanes will also be closed week nights between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

During the lane closures, traffic will be rerouted through the SunPass and cash lanes at the toll plaza.
