Migrants Spotted On Elliot Key
KEY BISCAYNE (CBS4) - More than a dozen migrants were discovered early Monday morning standing on a small sandy spit of land on Elliot Key in Biscayne National Park.
Images from Chopper4, which flew over the island around 10:30 a.m., showed 14 men dressed in long pants, shirts, some wearing jackets, who appeared to be waiting for the authorities. None of the men looked wet or cold and there was no boat or raft in sight.
A park ranger in a boat drifted offshore keeping tabs on the men until U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents could arrive and take the men into custody.
