Gas Detected At Silver Bluff Elementary School

MIAMI (CBS4) -- Silver Bluff Elementary School was crawling with hazmat fire-rescue personnel Sunday afternoon following a report of a gas leak.

The school, located at 2447 SW 26th Street, was being checked for the cause of the leak, which may have come from the cafeteria said a Miami Fire-Rescue Lt. Ignatius Carroll.

Gas had filled the entire school, according to rescue personnel, but it never reached explosive levels.

People living nearby were temporarily told to stay in their homes, but have now been released as no immediate danger has been found.
