BSO Looking For Hit And Run Driver That Struck Young Girl

NORTH LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - The Broward Sheriff's Office is looking for a driver that struck a 7 year-old girl late Wednesday afternoon and just kept on going.

BSO spokesperson Mike Jachles says emergency units rushed to the scene at the intersection of Southwest 74 Ave and Tam O'Shanter Boulevard. There they found Francesca Moise,7,  laying in the roadway badly injured.

Her father Pierre told CBS4's Carey Codd that his daughter and her mother were walking to the bus stop to do some Christmas shopping at the Swap Shop.

"That's crazy. that's crazy. I don't understand that," said Pierre Moise. "That's my life…that's my daughter. I spend my life with family."

Following the accident, the girl was airlifted to Broward General Medical Center where she was initially listed in critical condition. Her father says the hospital told him the girl did not suffer any broken bones and is expected to be OK.

Authorities say the car that hit Moise was white with red rims. They say a witness has come forward, but did not elaborate on what information that witness provided.

If you know anything about this crime, call Broward Crimestoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
