Man, Woman Found Murdered In Miramar Apartment

MIRAMAR (CBS4) - Miramar police are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered in an apartment just a few blocks north of Miramar Parkway.

Police spokeswoman Tania Rues said they were called around 7 a.m. after a friend went to check on the people who live in the apartment at 2001 SW 64th Avenue and found a man and woman dead inside.

"Basically a friend of one of the victims alerted us. She came to the residence concerned for the well-being of her friend and discovered the two bodies," said Rues. "Foul play is suspected."

Police have not released the names of dead or said how they died. Neighbors identified the woman as Joann Beaudoin, a mother of two, who lives in the apartment. According to Beaudoin's friends, last night she got into an argument at a bar with a man she used to have a relationship with; Beaudoin's friends identified him as Eddie Maldonado.

On November 30th Beaudoin went to court in Broward for a domestic violence hearing in reference to a restraining order against Maldonado. One of Beaudoin's friends, who was at the bar Wednesday night, told CBS4 she made sure Beaudoin made it home safely. She said later in the evening a male friend of Beaudoin stopped by. She believes this was the second body found Thursday morning.

While they have speculated on a motive to the murders, police have confirmed that they are looking for a person of interest in the case.
