Tomas Becomes Hurricane Again, Slows
MIAMI - (CBS4) - Tomas is a hurricane once again as it moves out into the open Atlantic.
At 11 p.m. Saturday, the center of the storm was located about 275 miles north-northeast of the Grand Turk Island. All watches and warnings have been ended, but a decrease in speed is expected tonight followed by a turn to the northeast, then east on Sunday and Sunday night.
The system's maximum sustained winds have increased to 80 miles per hour and is moving north-northeast at 10 mph. The National Weather Service said some weakening is expected over the next 48 hours.
