CBSMiami.com Weather @ Your Desk 7-26-17 1PMSizzling Summer day underway with some storms in spots. Temperatures in the upper 80s and 90s. It already feels like the upper 90s and 100s. Due to the heating of the day and the sea breeze, scattered storms have developed and are producing some heavy downpours and lightning. In addition, a Heat Advisory has been issued for all of South Florida until 6PM today due to the high heat indices: 105-110 degrees and the potential for heat exhaustion and dehydration. South Floridians should take the necessary precautions and stay hydrated. Other heat safety tips include: limiting outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day. Try to stay in the shade and in air-conditioned areas whenever possible. Never leave children or pets in enclosed vehicles. Look before you lock! Tonight will be warm and muggy with lows in the low 80s. A few showers possible overnight. Tomorrow with high pressure in control, we’ll continue to deal with the sweltering heat and high humidity. Highs in the low 90s and the chance for scattered storms. Late week into the weekend will be even hotter as we’ll see winds shift out of the Southwest and West over the land. Highs will be well above average in the mid to upper 90s on Saturday and Sunday. We’ll see more late day storms. Lobster Mini Season is underway and weather is cooperating. No advisories for boaters. Winds out of the Southeast 5 to 10 knots. 1 to 2 foot seas. Smooth on the bays. In the tropics: quiet in the Gulf and the Caribbean. Watching a wave off the coast of Africa with a low potential of development over the next 5 days.
