The Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure began with a promise between two sisters, one dying of cancer and the other determined to end it forever. Now it has spread across the country donating 75 percent of income to cancer research and education, totaling $2 billion dollars to date. Join the fight on October 18 by participating in the 19th Annual Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Komen Race with a 5K Run beginning at 8 a.m. followed by a 9:45 a.m. Tot Run. Early registration is currently open with pricing starting at $30 and increasing to $35 after August 15, 2014. Sign up now to give your energy to a great cause.

The event will feature 60s and 70s music, drinks, a secret celebrity impersonator and guests are encouraged to dress up to match the theme. All proceeds benefit child mentoring and development. It's one charitable event that won't feel like one.

The 19th Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball features a night of dancing and the opportunity to place bids on fantasy prizes. Tickets start at $500 and proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish foundation. Over its 19-year history, the gala has raised $14.3 million dollars for 3,000 deserving children looking for one last thrill at the end of their journey. Be part of the experience and grant a wish for a terminally ill child.
