Gardens Of Crandon Park

4000 Crandon Blvd
Miami FL 33149
(305) 361-5421

This is truly one of the hidden gems of South Florida. A walk through the Gardens at Crandon Park is almost like stepping into post-human world, especially if you can find solitude (and you probably can) in the 30-acre park. Prior to being a natural park, the Gardens were the Miami Zoo, and today the zoo's remnants, including cages, still sit unused on the premises. It makes for a mystical walk through the remnants of the zoo as the space is again returned to nature. Yet the area is still well-groomed and maintained, and the old artificial water features entice birds from miles around to come and put on a display for visitors.
